With large, advanced air handling systems, that have curbs up to 60” high, maintenance access can be a real challenge. Ladders can puncture the roof. Adding a catwalk to the air handler isn’t desirable. Conn-Fab catwalks or work platforms cantilevered from the plenum curb are a practical and cost-effective solution.
Since Conn-Fab catwalks or work platforms are cantilevered from the curb itself, no part of the catwalk or its suspended ladder contacts the roof’s surface. They are a generous 36” wide and clear the roof by at least 2”.
The catwalks with their removable hand rails are normally shipped in 10-ft. sections along with the plenum curb. Installation is quick, sturdy and in compliance with OSHA specifications.
